Venue Support & Arts Space Development

To encourage arts groups and practitioners in creative pursuits, the HKADC strives to provide arts venues of different scales for creation and demonstration for local artists while offering new artistic experiences for the general public.

Developing Arts Space
In response to the arts community’s needs for arts space, the HKADC is actively engaged in discussions with various strategic partners to implement “Arts Space” scheme on providing arts spaces. Under the scheme, existing buildings will be remodelled or new site will be developed into creative or rehearsal space for the industry. This will help relieve the rental pressure faced by the arts community.

The HKADC has secured support from business sector, which is willing to lease out premises at below-market rate, and established the first arts space project namely “ADC Artspace” at Genesis in Wong Chuk Hang dedicated to visual arts/media arts artists. We are conducting the preparatory work for other projects under the “Arts Space” scheme by liaising with different government bodies. It is hoped that the projects can be implemented as soon as possible.

Venue Subsidy Scheme
The scheme aims to subsidise arts groups and independent artists in hiring venues for arts activities and rehearsals in order to create and publicly present their art works. The Scheme is designed to increase the venue choices available for hiring by qualified applicants, and to promote more arts venues suitable for their needs. For details, please refer to the Application Guidelines.
